Top 5 car maintenance tips

Here are the top 5 car maintenance tips you should know. To save your car from getting damaged and save yourself excessive costs.

1. Keep up with oil change

Many motorists believe their car’s oil should be changed every 3,000 miles, however, most late-model vehicles now can go 5,000 to 7,000 miles between oil changes. Check your owner’s manual and get on a routine to good car care.

2. Take care of your tires

Check tire pressures and tread depth. Check the pressure on all the tires including the spare-with a quality gauge when the tires are cold. Be sure to look for recommended pressure on the driver’s door jamb and NOT the tire wall.

3. Take care of your battery

Ensure the battery cable connections are tight, and the terminals are free from corrosion. If the battery is more
than three years old, it’s a good idea to have it tested to determine how much life it has left.

4. Wiper Blades

Wiper blades should completely clear the glass with each swipe. Make sure the windshield washer reservoir is filled.

5. Take care of minor faults when they appear

Make sure to immediately fix any minor fault that appears to avoid spending more than you should because if you leave a fault for long, it affects other parts of the car and costs you excess money.

What could be the reasons for you not being able to read your car’s oil level

The waiting period is to allow all the oil to drain back into the oil pan. If it were measured immediately after shutting off it, it would read low because some of the oil is not in the pan. It also won’t let you check level while the engine ( oil) is cold, it only measures at operating temp (oil expands as it gets warmer like everything else ). And sometimes trying to check oil level too fast causes it remember to check it on a flat level area.
